The attention to gut health and how to nourish the gut is not a fad. Research proves what Hippocrates, the “father of medicine”, stated over two thousand years ago: “All disease begins in the gut.” Yet, what happens if a cancer diagnosis and cancer treatment plan compromises the integrity of the precious gut? How do you help to restore and nourish the gut when the gut microbiome is imbalanced?
Hitting Cancer Below the Belt (HCB2) offers a Healing Belly Basket to cancer patients and survivors. We invite you to join HCB2 at Ellwood Thompson’s in the Beet Cafe on December 13, 2017 for an educational class to learn about the foods in the HCB2 basket and to share in the discussion about ways to heal, seal, and reseed the gut lining. Ten baskets are available to cancer patients and survivors so those interested in receiving this gift are encouraged to request a basket using the HCB2 online form found here: https://hcb2.org/education/survivor-support/healing-belly-baskets/.*
The HCB2 Healing Belly Basket will be distributed to the 10 patients and survivors during the class so that all guests can view the items and learn where to find them in your local grocery store. All participants will leave this event with our “What’s in the Basket?” document as well as the HCB2 anti-inflammatory grocery list. We also hope all will leave the event with a better understanding of the microbiome and how the foods we eat each day affect our gut and overall health.
If you’d like a Healing Belly Basket, but cannot make the event on December 13th, we encourage you to request a basket via the link above and we’ll be in touch!
